Help us develop a sustainable agriculture and local food system strategy for Barron County - share your ideas and resources here:

** Several Red Cedar Sustainable Community group participants attended the Agriculture Focus Meeting on January 21, 2009 at the old Barron County Courthouse - to see a list of issues identified at that time, please click here.

** At several of our recent Red Cedar meetings, we have spent time talking about the possibilities for a sustainable agriculture and local food system for Barron County - stay tuned in to learn more about what has been discussed.

** On March 29-30, 31 community members from Washburn, Sawyer, Barron and Rusk Counties, including many youth from Barron High School and the Barron Boys and Girls Club, traveled to Madison and Milwaukee to learn from a) volunteers helping with the WI Homegrown Lunch Program, b) community leaders involved in the Troy Gardens Project, c) non-profit organization staff member, Jay Salinas, of Growing Power. Be sure to check out the videos from our trip - see http://redcedarsustain.wetpaint.com/page/March+Field+Trip+Videos+and+Info

** Stay tuned for more on what ideas were generated on and after this inspirational trip.
